Capelli Academy’s Hair Design Program – 1600 Hours

Capelli Academy is proud to use the world renowned Pivot Point system.  A Pivot Point education stands apart from all the others because of the Pivot Point Difference. It means that we teach you the ‘why,’ not just the ‘how.’ Soon you will be a designer-in-training who is learning how to think, see and create like a professional winner. The Capelli Academy Hair Design program consists of:

 Hair Design
Cutting. Styling. Long Hair Design. Hair Manipulation. With the support of the latest full color textbooks, step-by-step DVD’s, and direction from our qualified instructors, students will learn how to express their creative vision on both men and women. Our students learn not only how to cut, style, and manipulate hair, but to express their creative talents through these services. Students are not held to boundaries as they are encouraged through our curriculum to experiment with basic, street, and avante guard styles.

Color Design
In today’s society, expressing one’s self through hair color has become a part of everyday style for men and women alike. Experiencing a wide range of color placement techniques keeps our students up to date with the trends of both today and tomorrow. Students will learn the fundamentals, or the “why’s” of color, in a classroom setting, followed by the “how’s”, with today’s trends, on our practical Clinic floor.  The combination of both experiences shapes our students with confidence in Color Design. Hair is your canvas, let your artistic mind inspire you.

Perm Design
Once viewed as “curling hair”, Perm Design has evolved into an area that teaches students how to express a look through texture and volume. Clients are no longer confined to certain looks based on their hair texture, as our students enable them to achieve looks that were once thought impossible. The theory portion and interactive DVD’s expose students to a wide variety of perm wraps and texturizing techniques, followed by the expression of these looks on the Clinic floor.

During the course, the student will also receive training to develop entrepreneurial skills. The objective is to help students apply their skills successfully in the marketplace by learning how to take advantage of marketing and goal-setting
Students will learn about different aspects of increasing self-awareness and self-esteem, practicing effective communication, fostering team building, improving decision-making skills. Opportunities for practicing and applying these skills will be provided throughout the program.

45 week program curriculum includes 1600 hours of training students hairstyling based on Manitoba’s Standard requirements.
Attendance is 5 days a week for 7.5 hours a day, Tuesday through Saturday
